Job Description

Responsiblities

The role involves overseeing a major power origination book focused on regions speaking German within Switzerland and Germany. Responsibilities include generating significant margins through speculative activities while adhering to assigned limits involving VaR, trailing stop loss, credit, and cash flow. Additional duties are to support the trading team with market insights and oversee junior team development. Collaboration with risk management and backend operations is essential to optimize credit risk management, cash collateral, and foreign exchange. Moreover, the role includes supporting market access services for clients and working on the development of new trading services.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess at least 10 years of experience in proprietary trading within Continental power markets with proven successful trading results. A university degree in economics, finance, natural science, or a technical field is required. Strong fundamental knowledge of European power markets is essential, with experience in the Swiss market being a significant advantage. The role demands experience in building strong relationships with the origination department and direct customer access. Networking within European commodity trading, especially in areas speaking German, is important. Candidates must be entrepreneurial, profit-oriented with excellent judgment, and very analytical, structured, and detail-oriented. High integrity and the ability to work as a team player are crucial. The primary workspace is Poschiavo, with the option to work from a local office after 12 months, and regular travel required. Proficiency in German and very good command of English are necessary, with a willingness to learn Italian.
