Responsiblities

Lead comprehensive software development and modernization projects from start to finish, setting project scope, milestones, delivery plans, and execution strategies. Actively manage associated risks, dependencies, and potential cross-system impacts. Play a key role in refining software delivery processes and software development life cycle (SDLC) standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software. Keep a broad perspective on system landscapes and integrations, working hand-in-hand with developers, architects, and product stakeholders. Collaborate on design and architectural discussions to promote scalable, maintainable, and modern engineering practices, ensuring alignment to delivery needs while minimizing complexity and technical debt.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a robust software development background, with a comprehensive grasp of software architecture, system integration, and distributed systems. Though daily coding is not necessary, understanding codebases and technical trade-offs is crucial. Experience in leading across multiple teams or initiatives, and familiarity with modern practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD, are advantageous. Ideal candidates would have prior roles such as Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Engineering Lead. A capacity to balance immediate delivery pressures against the need for maintaining long-term technical quality is essential. Additionally, applicants should possess a strong analytical mindset, adaptability to ambiguous or evolving environments, and fluency in both English and German. A solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, and complex system projects, including modernization or legacy transformations, is required.
